• The holders of the CPTPP investor work permits are allowed to stay in Canada for 12 months. They can stretch the time later by going through proper procedures.
• They have to be originally from Japan, Vietnam, Australia, or Mexico.
• They are supposed to invest a satisfying amount in a business located in Canada.
• They will be in charge of managing the investment.
• They will pose as an executive, supervisor, or specialist in the company.
• Intra-company transferees:
The companies from the countries that participated in the CPTPP agreement can transfer employees to their related companies in Canada.

• The CPTPP work permit holders have to be nationals of one of the countries that participated in the CPTPP contract.
• In the case of permanent residents, only the PR holders of Australia and New Zealand can be transferees under this agreement.
• The business organizations they are supposed to join have to be inside Canada.
• The Canadian company has to be related to the foreign company in the following ways:
• Parental relation.
• Affiliation
• Subsidiary
• The transferee will occupy the post of a supervisor, executive, or specialist. Managerial trainees can be transferees as well. But the purpose for that should be developing professional skills.
• Professionals & technicians:
Professionals are the employees who have specialized professional knowledge and experience of a specific subject. Technicians are the ones in charge of technical works in a business.
Eligibility requirements:
There are certain eligibility requirements for this type of work permit under the CPTPP. The requirements are divided into two sections. They are:
• Common requirements:
Here are the requirements that are valid for both categories-
• The transferee must occupy a similar position in the Canadian company as the previous foreign company.
• They have to show valid papers regarding their professional and educational details.
• They have to show certificates and licenses from foreign or Canadian controlling authorities in case of their job being controlled in their prior location.
• If it is not a regulated occupation, they have to submit valid papers showing their educational background, special skills, and experience.
• Category-specified requirements for specialists:
These are the requirements that are valid only for professionals or specialists.
• The specialists must have 2 years of experience in the sector they have claimed to be experts in.
• They must have a certificate of 4 years (minimum) of post-secondary education.
• Category-specified requirements for technicians:
These are the conditions that are exclusively applied to the technicians.
• The technicians must possess at least 4 years of experience in their respective sectors.
• They must have a certificate of 2 years (minimum) of post-secondary education.
• Business visitors: People can pay a short-term visit to Canada through CPTPP. But the goal of the visit should be related to business.
Work Permit features and basic requirements:
The basic features and requirements are as follows-
• The CPTPP business visitor work permit holders can stay in Canada for a short period.
• The preferable place to apply for this work permit is the port of entry of Canada. But the visitors need to have either a useable visa or an eTA for that.
• If anyone does not have a visa, they will first need to get it from the IRCC center located in the country they are currently living in.
