Candidates under this section will be able to make a direct request for a work permit without having to wait for the letter of confirmation from ESDC. But this work permit can only be obtained in case of specific situations or programs.
This kind of work permit is of two types. Those are-
• Open work permits which do not need any employment offer or LMIA approval.
• Employer-specific work permit where an employment proposal from a certain company is needed. But even in this case, LMIA approval is not needed.
Only some specific programs are eligible for this type of work permit. Those are listed below-
• General Agreement on Trade in Services
• Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement
• Reciprocal employment
• Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership
• Canada-provincial or territorial program
• Canada International agreements
