People can seek this work permit if their better half is currently holding their work permit or visa. The holder of this work permit free to work under any company located in Canada.
People can request this work permit if their marital partners fall under any of the following categories.
• Anyone who has a valid Open Work Permit.
• Possessor of Provincial Nominee work permit.
• Student studying full time in Canada.
• Transferred employees from EU to Canada under CETA.
• Expert worker currently working in Canada.
• Possessor of a work permit under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot program.
• Possessor of Bridging Open Work Permit.
Here are some important criteria to be fulfilled.
In the case of a skilled worker’s spouse:
• The worker has to possess a work permit that has a minimum of 6 months of validity.
• Currently working and staying in Canada and will be employed for half a year despite not having a work permit.
• Working under a profession listed in NOC.
• The applicant’s partner has possessed a work permit with a minimum duration of half a year.
• The spouse of the work permit seeker has to be the candidate of one of the following programs:
o Federal skilled trades class.
o Canadian experience program.
o Federal skilled workers program.
o Provincial nominee program.
o Caregiver program.
• Must have proper documents to prove the working skills of the candidate’s spouse. He or she must behave 0, A, or B level of skill.
• Either a letter from the job provider or an agreement of employment of the primary worker has to be submitted.
• The primary worker’s previous three pay stubs duplicates or photocopies have to be submitted.
